Three More

 "Moonlight Over Serrania" kindergarten

 "Gentle Waves" third grade

"Animals Around the World" fourth grade

I am taking a painting class from Stephanie Corfee online too. I am learning a lot of techniques to use with water colors and acrylics, how to use brushes, add details, etc. It is a lot of fun.

There's actually two more!!! Wow, this took a lot of time this past week to complete all these. The student's made the pictures on paper, then they were transferred to fabric, then the kids colored their pictures with crayons. I took the pictures and fused them onto some of my hand-dyed fabrics as a background.  Let's hope the sell big $$$ !!!

More Student Quilts

The sun is our symbol so this kindergarten class always makes suns for their quilt. So cute! It is not quilted yet so some suns don't have rays yet. They will!!!
I'm calling this one "Jelly Fish City" for lack of something more original. This is from a fifth grade class, studying undersea life? I'm guessing. So. Many. Jellyfish. I'm just sayin'.

Its A Beautiful Day

More student quilts before quilting. I've quilted almost all of them, just two left.
Brenda, if you are reading this, I am going into the studio right now to do the OWLS!

Student Quilts

It's that time of year again when our school is getting ready for a big fun raiser and part of that is creating some student art for art quilts that are auctioned off. This is quilt from my class, second grade.

The kids all made a cupcake on paper, I traced it onto wonder under backed fabric and then they colored their picture with crayons onto the fabric. After that I cut out the pictures and fuse them onto a background, free motion stitch all over the whole thing and create something cute and pretty that somebody might want to bid on.

This one has major "cute" factor (IMHO) and hopefully someone will buy it!
I finished 2 and have 10 more to make this week while I am on vacation. More pictures tomorrow!

Finally some fabric work!

I've been using my hand carved stamps on fabric.  I used dyna-flow fabric paint on some muslin and then free motion quilted around the shapes.  I was mostly experimenting, trying to see how the stamps looked on fabric and I think it looks pretty good. I used a rubber carving plate to put the paint on and used that as a stamp pad. Now to figure out what to do with it. I am making a "springy" pillow cover out of this experiment.
I really love mandalas, so I folded a piece of deli paper into eighths to sort of guide me and then began stamping layers, building out from the center. I love it! If I could do this onto fabric, how cool a quilt would that be? Yowser, it could be the Baltimore Album Quilt that I never ever would ever make in a million years but would like to own, if you know what I mean....hmmm.   I'll have to think about this a little more.
I've continue to paint/draw faces daily. Meet "banana dreads", named by my husband, cracking me up, as usual.
