Still Stamping

Pretty kitty, Otis, just chillin.
The multi-colored stamp pad experiment worked pretty well. The colors blend as you use the stamp which is a nice effect. The Bombay India Inks and FW Daler Rowney fluorescent inks came out rather antiquey looking. For bolder color I may have to use pigment reinkers.
Experimenting with wreath arrangements too, used all hand carved stamps.

Tile Stamps!!!

Each of these stamps is 1 1/2" square. So fun! I am experimenting painting them, but what I really want to do is make a custom stamp pad so the stamp itself is multicolored. I'll try that tomorrow.

Playing with Stamps

I've made about 40+ of these pod shapes from erasers I bought at the 99 cent store (which I may or may not have hundreds left). If you use archival ink you can watercolor over them and embellish them. Super fun!
I played with some wreath designs and the other one is supposed to be an ocean wave. I got tired of painting them all blue and decided to add some other colors.

Santa Cruz

We got to visit our number two son this Thanksgiving. He is such a fun, hard working kid. We had a great trip. He is taking care of a bunny named Buns, who is absolutely adorable and scampers over to you when you come in the back yard. We went for a bike ride and wound up on the wharf where the sea lions hang out. So nice to see him, but we are glad to be home.

Knitting Like Crazy Lately

First there is this, an owl pillow (you can't see the whole thing before its gifted). This is a famous free pattern from the Purl Bee. Click the link for the pattern. I've also made like 5 hats, another pair of slippers, a scarf, some wristlets. Do you know I love to knit too? LOVE IT
Some booties/slippers, pattern is called Moonkoosa, check Ravelry and Tiny Owl Knits. Click the link to see the pattern source. They are knitted, then felted, and they are a perfect fit, so comfy.

ATC's for the month of November, Sunshine.
Wishing everyone a peaceful and yummy and delicious Thanksgiving.

Pick-up Posse In the House

I made this for our clean campus campaign at school. Each class has an area of the school to clean and they may receive the "Pick-up Posse" banner to keep in their classroom for the week.  To make it more festive and exciting for the kids I added a bunch of random ribbons hanging down.  Thank goodness for letter stamps and already fused fabric scraps! They saved a lot of time for me.
And I can't stop with the bees already. Enough!!

This is a sneak peek of a project that is being made for part of the Quilting Arts Digest Challenge for Dia de Los Muertos.  It is all wool felt, some of felted on with the embellisher, and other parts sewn on with black thread. Since the picture was taken I have added a bouquet between the skeletons that they are holding together with their hands(?)/bones. When its finished I'll post the whole thing.

Collaboration

This sweet little baby quilt was made by a friends mother (85 years old? I think) for her great grand child, Matilda. She embroidered on the front and put it together with a white backing.  I quilted it with little flowers, leaves, and curlicues and put the binding on for her. I received a positive report back! I'm glad she liked it.

Day of the Dead Banner

I made this for a friend 5 years ago and asked for it back to take pictures, probably it was preblog and wasn't documenting everything all the time.  She is a big fan of Day of the Dead and it was her birthday.
This is the weirdest one of all, its supposed to be a cat skeleton. Thinking back I believe I had just gotten my Bernina 880 and wanted to try out all the stitches.
