Felina
Well, to all you Breaking Bad fans last night was the end of an amazing series. The finale, called Felina, brought to a close the saga of Walter White. It was a perfect ending to me, it felt just right.

Are you ready?
At least this one is a little fiber related, a cross stitch of Walter White found on Etsy.
Yeah, we're going to miss you Walt.

Hand Dyed Table Topper
Here you see more feather practice using different threads. This idea came from a blog I read regularly, Marveles Art Studios, http://marvelesartstudios.blogspot.com/ . She posts much more professional looking pieces similar to this and has many tutorials. I really like what she does with thread and this is my interpretation.

APOTHECARY
Here it is completed. It's sized for a twin bed so it is a little hard to photograph, but it supposed to be inside the witches lair on a stormy night, with all the potions you need to put a spell on someone. I used many techniques to create the potion bottles and utilized some hand dyed fabric here and there.
I used a new stencil called "Runes" which was the alphabet in Europe pre latin on the background. I also stenciled some Day of the Dead skulls along the side to make it extra spooky.
The surround squares are basically log cabins without the rules, lots of black and some Halloween fabric mixed in. I wanted to make a quilt for October but without a severe Halloween theme.
Booooo! Ready for fall!

Mini Vacation
We went on a little mini vacation to see my son in Santa Cruz. We saw a lot of interesting things on the side of the road. Like free apples......
and some guerrilla crochet art on a tree.....
and beautiful Monterey Bay.
I'll be posting the completed apothecary soon.
