Little Bunnies with boots and shawls

I made this little project a few weeks ago. Why, you might ask?
Because I wanted to that's why. Aren't those boots cute?

I felted the pink cheeks instead of embroidering them. I love my felting machine so much. I also felted the pink felt onto the ears. The pattern says to sew this by hand but except for the eyes I sewed the entire bunny on the machine. The pattern comes from http://rosylittlethings.typepad.com/

Happy Mother's Day

Thank you mom for giving me the creative spirit that has driven much of my life, sewing, knitting, crafting, and art in general. She taught me most of what I know and I've been doing it since I was a kid. It has brought so much satisfaction to my life. Love you, mom.

This is how we practice drawing pictures so student and mom are looking at each other. It is a really cute Mother's Day card.
Oh yeah! All seven of the auction quilts sold!!! Yeah!
Me and my boys long ago.

Take Me Back to the Garden Auction Quilts

Kindergarten Class

These are some little art quilts created by kindergarten and first grade students, with my help, to auction away at our school. The students create their art and then it is transferred to white cotton with black fabric markers. After that the students color with crayon directly onto the fabric. I collect all their art and attach fusing to the back and cut them out.

Then the fun begins....for me! I use some of my hand dyed fabrics for the background and play with the pieces until I get a composition that is pleasing. Everything is fused down and then quilted with black thread. I usually add some little details here and there to enhance the "sketch-like" quality.
I tried to make them all the same size and they are roughly about 25 x 25 inches.

I took these pictures in my classroom. I made a few more (total of 6). I'll post those later.
